3 Things to Make Most Out of your SUNDAY's

January 12, 2020

Plan your upcoming week and Make a list of goals for the week.

Take the free time that you have on a Sunday to map out your entire week. A lot of Sundays are spent stressing about everything you have to get done in the week ahead, so put down all of your most important goals for the week on paper and keep it with you. By doing this you can make sure that you accomplish and focus on the most pressing matters. Nothing is more satisfying than being able to check something off a list.

    1. Instead of worrying about what you're going to eat and spending time looking for those items in your house, you can make a grocery list and get those items so you know exactly what you're going to make and that you have all of the ingredients on-hand.

    2. Take 15 or 30 minutes on Sunday to go through your fridge and toss out anything that’s expired and to organize whatever is left. Once you’ve cleaned out your fridge, you’ll be able to make a more conscious list of things that you need and load up on groceries for the week accordingly.

    3. Grocery shopping on Sunday and planning your meals for the week will not only help you eat healthier. Try to make a list of the meals that you plan to have throughout the week and to buy your groceries accordingly. Then, take some time out of your Sunday to actually prepare the foods that take you longer to prep during the week.

    4. Schedule your workouts for the week. Taking a look at your schedule and seeing where a workout will fit in will help you stay on top of your fitness all week long.

    5. Take some time to plan out what you need to do tomorrow – when you're going to work out, what you're going to eat, what you have to get done at work, etc. – so that you can keep the Monday Blues to a minimum.

    6. Plan out your outfits for the week. You’d be amazed how much time outfit planning can shave off of your morning. Have a look at the weather for the week and give yourself an idea of what you might wear during the week to take the stress out of your weekday mornings

Spend some time alone and Pursue a passion.

While you should definitely spend some quality time with friends and family, you also need to have some time to yourself. Why? Because being alone has several benefits. It gives you the opportunity to reflect, clear your mind, improve your creativity, do the things that you want to do, and meet new people. Spending time alone can also increase your productivity since you aren't relying on other people to share the workload on a project.

      1. If you really want to enjoy your solitude, unplug during your alone time so that you aren't bothered by email, text messages, and Facebook notifications.

      2. We all need a hobby that is going to recharge our batteries and spark our passion. Whether it's writing, repairing an old car, painting, or hiking, you should use your free time on days like Saturday or Sunday to do activities that you normally can't during the work. Ideally, you should find a hobby that either lets you blow off some steam, gets the creative juices flowing, or refreshes you in some way, or is something that may be related or unrelated to your business.

      3. If you’re stressed on a Sunday, it probably means you’re still kind of exhausted from the past week and aren’t quite ready to jump into the new week. Get some much needed relaxation by treating yourself to a spa day (think manicure, massage, facial – the works!).

      4. While it’s important to take time to yourself on Sunday, you can also take some time to talk to a family member or friend that you may not have chatted with in a while. Call up your parents or grandparents, or call up a friend that you usually only talk to over text.

      5. A low-key Sunday night potluck with a group of close friends to wind down your weekend and keep your spirits up before the week ahead.

      6. Don't be afraid to pamper yourself a little! Take a long hot bath, order delivery from your favorite restaurant, or watch a few episodes of that Netflix show. You'll be more productive during the week if you feel good.

      7. Getting outside will raise your vitamin D levels, improve your mood and self-esteem, get you more exercise, and better your concentration.

Do some maintenance. Do your laundry. Organize your closet.

Maintenance can mean a lot of different things for people. It could literally mean cleaning up your office, home, or vehicle. It could mean personal grooming, like getting a haircut or manicure. Or, it could be cleaning out your inbox or scrolling through your social media accounts and connecting with the friends and family you’ve ignored during the week.

      1. Doing laundry is THE WORST. But if you think about it, the last thing you want to do after taking a wonderful shower is dry off in a towel or lay in a bed that's covered in bacteria!

      2. Also chances are, you’re not really doing laundry throughout the week, so use your Sunday to get everything clean.

      3. Since you’ll have to put your laundry back in your closet anyway, why not go about it a bit more slowly and use the time to organize your closet at you work, too? Save yourself the pain and frustration of having no idea what to wear and trying to track down your clothes, by cleaning your closet and organizing your clothes.

      4. Empty all your garbage cans and get the trash ready for pick-up day.

      5. Grab anything that's definitely gone bad or just all the leftovers you know you're not going to eat.

      6. By the end of the week your bag has become a black hole filled with random receipts, gum wrappers, loose change, and that random flyer the guy handed you on the way to work. Empty out all the unnecessary things you've collected and organize the important stuff so you know where everything is. It'll make your life seem a little more easy.
